Promoting a Positive Public Image of Lawyers
The faster we, as lawyers, understand that our negative public image is
not only an individual problem--or even one that is limited to a select
group of lawyers--but a profession-wide epidemic, the faster we can
achieve results. The mission of ALPIA, a non-profit organization, is to
bring dignity back to the legal profession. We rarely take the time to
examine our individual actions to see whether we will negatively impact,
not only ourselves, but also our profession as a whole. The way to wipe
the stereotype is to realize if we are not part of the solution, we are part
of the problem and then do something about it. We must change the
way lawyers are viewed. It's time people are positive about lawyers.
